Moving your existing Direct Debits across to NRTH is something we handle for you on the back end. Below are the questions clients ask most when planning a bulk migration (25 or more mandates). For the full walkthrough, see How do I move my existing Direct Debit mandates to NRTH?
How do I get started?
There are three easy ways: book a call with us, use the Support button on the platform, or email us at [email protected] and tell us which provider you're moving from (GoCardless, Adfin, AccessPay, and so on). We'll guide you through every stage and handle the back-end migration.
What do you need from me?
Just a few things only you and your current provider can supply: your current collection dates, your current provider details and scheme reference numbers (plus how many mandates are moving), and your customer data in the CSV template we provide. We'll also give you a pre-approved notification to send your customers.
How long does it take?
It depends on your current collection dates, and there are external restrictions that mean it can't be rushed, so it's worth starting in good time. Once we know your dates, we'll agree a clear timeline with you.
Will my customers have to do anything?
No. The mandates move across automatically, with no re-signing or re-authorisation needed from your payers.
Why is there a period with no collections?
There's a short, unavoidable window between your last collection on your old platform and your first on NRTH. It's a normal part of any migration, and we plan around it with you. You can begin collecting 6 working days after the transfer date.
Do I have to notify my customers?
Yes, and it's essential. We give you a pre-approved template that tells your customers their Direct Debit reference on their bank statement is changing. Sending it prevents claims and stops customers cancelling a mandate that's been re-set up as part of the move. Just confirm to us once it's been sent.
What format does my customer data need to be in?
A CSV in the exact template we provide, and we'll tell you when we need it. We check every file before anything goes live and flag any errors, such as incorrect bank details, so you can fix them before we re-test.
Will my existing payments or subscriptions move too?
No. The migration moves the mandates themselves. Any ongoing payments or subscriptions are set up again afterwards, and we'll help you get these in place so collections resume smoothly.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. There's no charge to migrate your existing mandates across to NRTH.
What if I'm moving fewer than 25 mandates?
For small numbers, a full back-end migration usually isn't worth the wait. It's normally quicker to set up fresh Direct Debit mandates directly in NRTH: your customers approve once and you're collecting straight away. Not sure which route is right? Book a call and we'll recommend the best approach for your numbers.
